The Source

The source of all knowledge
Man does not seek
The source of all love
Man does not seek
The source of all good
Man does not seek

Some of the best minds in the world
Created religion
Creating a god was the mission
One from whom,
They wouldn't have to ask permission
They created religions of ambition
Raising their selves to be gods
Based on their own pride
And took the ignorant followers
Along for the ride

Ignorant but not innocent
For they too,
Have turned aside
In their hearts they confide
All the sin they try to hide
They want bread
Want meat
Want drinks
& a god they want 2 see
So they created their gods
From created things
Giving them
Man's virtue & vice
Trying to steal God's glory
They became his enemies
His beauty they couldn't see
Even though they resided
In his painted scenery
They are lost in their foolery
The one true God
They do not seek

Isaiah 42: 14-17

For a long time I have held my peace;
    I have kept still and restrained myself;
now I will cry out like a woman in labor;
    I will gasp and pant.
I will lay waste mountains and hills,
    and dry up all their vegetation;
I will turn the rivers into islands,
    and dry up the pools.
And I will lead the blind
    in a way that they do not know,
in paths that they have not known
    I will guide them.
I will turn the darkness before them into light,
    the rough places into level ground.
These are the things I do,
    and I do not forsake them.
They are turned back and utterly put to shame,
    who trust in carved idols,
who say to metal images,
    “You are our gods.”
